Listen to the stomping (and surprisingly political) new Passion Pit single, “Take a Walk”.
never realized i was such an emotional guy… well i kind of did but jesus. meh, anyway, my new philosophy on life is this:
party like there’s no tomorrow,
as soon as i know a girl isn’t exactly what i want then i’m not pursuing her,
make new friends who have much more similar interests as me,
and keep walking towards my dreams.
applied to be an animal keeper trainee… i really hope i get that job.
i wanted to share this with you all, so you can understand how serious bad weather can affect your car.
I was on my way to the mall after work, to meet up with my friend. I was driving on I-4 the notorious tourist death trap. I was going about 60-65 mph, about the speed limit because of the rain we’ve been having today. All of the sudden, about 200 feet in front of me in the rightmost lane, next to mine, a biker falls over. As I see this, I start to press on my brakes, then slam on them because I realize I need to stop my car ASAP- I’m headed right for the biker that’s fallen. While stomping on my brakes, my wheels lock, and I skid right ahead, also toward the car that had been skidding to a stop next to me on the right, behind the biker. As I realize I’m sliding towards him and the biker, I jerk my steering wheel all the way left, to try and avoid this chaos. This was completely unsuccessful, still sending me forward toward the bike and car right in front of me.
This all happened in about 3 seconds. Luckily my car was able to stop and jerk left just yards before the car and biker. I was also extremely lucky no one had been behind me, because no one rear ended me while braking. If I had been going a little faster, my brakes didn’t work as quick as they did, or someone rear ended me, I would’ve driven either into the car next to me, or right over the biker’s body. When I stopped I put my hazards on and got out to see if the biker needed an ambulance ,but he claimed he was fine. I’m not sure how he fell, but I’m fairly sure he wasn’t hit by anything, perhaps just the weather made him lose control. I just wanted to share this with you to stress the importance of driving cautiously in the rain or snow, because you really don’t have near as much control over a braking car as you may think you do.
